The institute was created when the The Charles G Koch Foundation split in to two seperate intities, the Charles Koch Institute and the Charles Koch Foundation.

The Charles Koch iInstitute trains young poeple and places them in paid internships with right wing organization. This takes place through the Koch Asociate and Koch Internship programs.
