KEY QUOTES

7 November, 2003
The present state of the climate reflects primarily natural causes, and if infrared-absorption plays a role it seems very minor. Continued use of fossil fuels following any reasonable trajectory, by adding CO2 to the air, may at most cause small and barely noticeable changes to the future climate. These changes will be impossible to detect in any location, but on balance they will probably be beneficial. The optimal emissions of CO2 corresponds with the unconstrained level. The Kyoto Protocol is a costly initiative that yields no environmental benefit. There is no reason for Canada to comply with Kyoto, so Canadians should be left alone to do their laundry in whatever water they find works best.

QUOTES

30 May, 2000
Climate alarmists put the policy cart in front of the horse. Even if global warming is happening, or about to happen, and we decide its net effects are mostly bad, there are many feasible policy options to deal with it. In sharp contrast, the scale of policy intervention required to stabilize carbon concentrations would have far worse effects on human welfare than any known impact of climate change.

25 July, 2006
Co-author of the Interfaith Stewardship Council letter in July 2006, which included the claim: "The role of the IPCC in climate studies is similar to that of the Jesus Seminar in New Testament scholarship in the 1990s and Darwinism for the past century." The ISC seeks to counter the efforts of the Evangelical Climate Initiative, a group calling for action on climate change.
